We have space for 6 guests. Some travel alone, some as a couple and some as a group of friends or family. If you travel alone we try as far as possible that you will share cabin with another guest of the same gender. Our trips are social – all in the group have the same goals and interests, and share the passion for a sailing adventure. In that way it`s always good atmosphere  – even if you travel alone or together with someone you know. Normally you came as a guest and leave as a friend. Maybe you find a new travel friend for your next adventure?

For our ski & sail adventure: you must be in good shape, ready to climb around 1400 altitude meters 4 days in a row. We would recommend that you have reasonably good skiing skills, from medium and upwards. It`s not a trip for beginners. You need to be social and like to live close with other people. If you are a group of people (minimum 5) with less mountain skiing experience, but want to join this adventure and learn more, let us know so we can create a tailor-made trip for you.

We take safety at sea seriously. Before the trip start, we talk about how to handle different situations. Man-over-board, fire, abandon ship, dismasting and running aground. It’s important to build knowledge, understanding and competency around critical situations.

On board we have: life raft, vests, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, lifebuoy, fire hose for both fresh and salt water, VHF, EPIRB, flare and first aid kit. Map machine, radar on so on.

The crew has STCW course, and we also have a dinghy and a ladder in the back of the boat, so you quickly can get out of the water if you fall over board.

We use professional ski guides from the company Uteguiden. Before we start climbing mountains, we practice search and rescue techniques, including use of avalanche equipment.

We got many questions about the snow conditions in the Sunnmøre Alps. To be honest, it is hard to know. We are at the west coast of Norway, so the weather, temperature and snow conditions are very fast changing. The last years there have been best snow in January and March, but April was very good as well. January and February are to early and too dark for ski and sail adventure, but there are local skiers in the mountains with headlight. In March we can go skitouring from 9 o’clock in the morning to 5 o’clock in the afternoon. In April there are more daylight and slightly warmer, the spring is on its way. The last week of April and the first week in May the snow can get a tiny bit slushy in the afternoons, but it is still ok for good skiing. So yeah, both March and April are good period for skitouring in Norway.

You should bring everything you need but at the same time, as little as possible. Storage space on boats is limited. Please use collapsible luggage or duffels for easy stowing if possibe. We have re-usable drinking bottles you can use during your stay, same with slippers, but it nice to bring on wool socks for cold evenings.

You find more information about what you should bring under equipment packing list.

We provide Wi-Fi with ample data for web browsing and email. You can charge your phones, cameras, computers, and other devices anytime. Each cabin is equipped with both 230-volt and 12-volt power outlets, as well as USB charging ports.

You need to have a valid travel insurance, and make sure to get one that covers backcountry skiing. For your own benefit, it is also smart to get an insurance that covers cancellation.

Usually there`s not a problem with weather. But if it`s not safe to carry out the planned activity due to weather condition, and the guides sole discretion, the guide will, if possible within a reasonable timeframe, offer the guests an alternative arrangement.
